Anne is currently an intermediate special education teacher for the York Region District School Board. Over the last ten years, Anne has taught in a variety of special education settings including an intermediate Autism Spectrum Disorder class. Currently pursuing technology as fast as it changes, Anne finds herself constantly evolving in terms of how she uses technology in a practical way which supports all student learning. In this past school year, her students were engaged in using a variety of technology tools - including web 2.0, games, smart technologies, and all of the Assistive Technology software already on SEA computers.
This next year is going to be exciting, as she collaborates with colleagues in a variety of settings in Ontario. Sharing over Skype, utilizing Kurzweil 3000, Smart Ideas, the class Weebly, blogging and a host of new and older programmes and web 2.0 tools. Always excited about the potential for change and growth in her students, Anne's only wish is for everything to be as friendly and intuitive as her Mac!
Note to participants: Think of any document that you would like to have a student access on a program that can read text, allow the student to answer questions, highlight information, pull out main ideas/supporting ideas. Please bring this document on a USB key to the session.
